An Adelaide antique store owner has fallen victim to theft for the second time this month.
The latest crime at his Semaphore store was captured on CCTV.
The footage shows two men lingered in front of a table outside La La Vintage on Semaphore Road before one darted inside to distract the store owner.
The other pocketed two cast-iron bookends, valued at more than $100.
“By looking at what they were doing, it’s clear they’ve done this before. They weren’t nervous about it at all,” La La Vintage owner Ruben Duerr told 9News.
The theft happened in the middle of the day, with the pair disappearing before it was realised.
It’s the second time the shop’s been hit in under a month.
A gang of three is believed to have stolen a unique paper weight on Easter Sunday.
“They were all sort of huddled around it, and then you can see clearly on the CCTV it was there and then it was gone,” Duerr said.
He said antique stores were particularly vulnerable to theft because of the natureÂ
of the items they sell which are often small and difficult to trace back to traders.
It’s one of two antique store robberies this week. A thief made off with thousands of dollars worth of collectibles from a Kings Park store in the early hours of Wednesday morning.Â
