At about 2pm yesterday, three men, aged 18, 23, and 29, absconded from custody at the Darwin Police Station on Knuckey Street.

The two younger men were soon arrested in the vicinity of The Esplanade and are back in custody.

The third man, 29-year-old Lazarus Bara Bara, is believed to have fled out of the city.

He was last seen jumping into the tray of a ute and is believed to have travelled south of Darwin towards Adelaide River.

Anybody who sees Bara Bara or knows his whereabouts is urged to not approach him but to call police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
