A former student at Melbourne’s embattled Yarra Valley Grammar has revealed she was sexually assaulted by a teenage boy while on a school camp.

The woman said the recent news of boys at the school caught with a list ranking female classmates from ”wifeys” to “unrapable” has triggered her trauma.

The woman said she was 15 when was allegedly set upon in a sleeping bag while on school camp on the Warrandyte River about 12 years ago.

“I was crying, I asked him to stop, I was moving into different positions to try and get him to stop but I didn’t want to wake anyone,” she said.

She said she left school after the alleged incident and suffered nightmares, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.

It got so bad she had to wear cotton gloves to bed because she scratched herself in her sleep.

“I attempted to take my own life,” she said. 

Her attacker, a teenage boy at the time, was found guilty of sexual assault in a children’s court.

“The school is unable to comment on individual past students including the alleged historical matters you have raised from 2012,” the school said in a statement to 9News.

“Any concerns regarding alleged student misconduct are investigated thoroughly and if proven are dealt with accordingly.”

9News is aware of another complaint from a victim in a separate case.

Yarra Valley Grammar paid that former student compensation through the National Redress Scheme for victims of institutional child sexual abuse.

That victim received an apologetic letter.

The allegations came in the wake of a ranking list scandal, in which year 11 students shared a spreadsheet including photos of female peers to the instant messaging app Discord.

The girls were ranked from top to bottom as “wifeys”, “cuties”, “mid”, “object”, “get out” and then finally “unrapable”.

Two male students have been consequently expelled.
