An Adelaide mum has confronted a gang of school girls running amok on one of the city’s busiest train lines.

The group, aged between 12 and 15, is accused of terrorising and threatening commuters travelling on the Seaford line in recent weeks.

One of their alleged victims, a 17-year-old girl, managed to raise the alarm by sending an SOS text message to her mother.

“Those girls were trying to rob my daughter,” the mother told 9News.

Footage shows the girls hiding their faces and taunting her through the train window.

The incident prompted her concerned mother to rush to Seaford Station just before 7pm yesterday to confront them.

“They were saying ‘give me your bag, give me your phone, give me your glasses’,” she said.

“[They] grabbed her by the hair pulled her backwards and started punching her.”

Avari Geschmay, 19, believes she was attacked by the same youths.

Geschmay was leaving Seaford Station on Tuesday night when she was allegedly followed and assaulted.

“They were following me to my car, kicking my bag which had all of my electronics,” she told 9News.

“But once I got into the car one of the girls started punching me in the back of my head.”

Police said the girls are banned from the rail network. Officers are currently reviewing CCTV in search of the group.

But the mother of their latest alleged victim claimed it wasn’t good enough.

“The people that are actually banned from public transport, why is it that they are allowed to get on a train and that is not policed?” she said.

“Why isn’t there better security so that she can be safe on her way home?”

Geschmay said she won’t be able to travel on a train alone after her alleged attack.

“You don’t think it’s going to be younger people who could do something like that.”
