Police are hunting down a pair of alleged thieves responsible for a major crime spree that saw cars smashed, items stolen, and a school broken into in eastern Brisbane.

The latest incident in the week-long spree unfolded at an apartment complex carpark in Coorparoo about 9pm on Saturday.

The male and female suspects allegedly smashed into cars and stole thousands of dollars worth of tools.

Victim Lilyana Obradovic said it was “really concerning” that it could have happened right under her nose.

“Just the fact that they’re impacting multiple is really concerning,” she told 9News.

“If it was one family, even that is not acceptable, but we’re talking about them impacting multiple homes in the one night in various suburbs.”

About four hours earlier the same night, the alleged thieves had stolen a Mercedes SUV from a home in Bulimba and were caught on CCTV driving it around the area.

The Mercedes owner, a mother of four, was at home with her son when it was taken.

Over the past week, the alleged thieves also struck addresses on Flora Street, Kitchener Street, Park Lane Place and broke into Coorporoo State School.

9News understands the alleged thieves are known to police, who today fingerprinted and collected evidence in Coorparoo to try to track down the pair.

The male suspect is described as tall with a slim build, fair-skinned and having distinct neck tattoos while his female accomplice is described as having dark hair and a medium build.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
