Police are negotiating with a man inside a home in Geelong amid reports of a “possible firearms incident”.
Emergency services were called to a home on Horne Square in Corio in the Victorian city at 11.30am.

A man and a woman barricaded themselves inside the house and refused to engage with police, Victoria Police said.

They said the woman left the home uninjured about 3pm and is now helping police with their inquiries.

“Critical Incident Response Team negotiators are on scene attempting to make contact with the man,” Victoria Police said.

“At this early stage in the investigation, there is nothing to suggest a firearms incident has occurred.”

Locals should avoid the area.
