Sam Claflin cut a pensive figure on Saturday as he continued filming Prime Video’s highly-anticipated thriller Lazarus in Manchester.

The actor, 37, had no problem getting into the titular character, nicknamed Laz, as he prepared to enter a car.

He wore a navy waterproof coat over a brown double-breasted jacket. He also wore a green shirt and dark navy trousers.

Sam grinned as he filmed the crime thriller, after first being spotted in character in February, again in Manchester.

The main cast is complete with Bill Nighy and Welsh actress Alexandra Roach who play Laz’s doctor father and sister.

The plot follows forensic pathologist Laz who returns home after his father’s suicide and begins to have disturbing experiences that can’t be explained.

He quickly becomes entangled in a series of cold-case murders as he grapples with the mystery of his father’s death and his sister’s murder 25 years ago.

Heather Curtis, current series executive for Pan-English scripted SVOD TV at Amazon MGM Studios said: ‘Lazarus is a gripping series that captures your attention from the very beginning.

‘We’re thrilled to unite with Harlan, Danny, Quay Street, and the all-star cast of Sam Claflin, Bill Nighy, and Alexandra Roach to tell this compelling story for our global Prime Video customers.’

The series was created by Harlan Coben and screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst, the men behind Fool Me Once, Netflix’s seventh most successful series.

Harlan wrote the book of the same name that Fool Me Once is based on, but Lazarus is an original story.

‘Lazarus is a psychological thriller with an emotional spine,’ said shared Danny.

‘It’s about fathers and sons, love and loss. We have attempted to bring our trademark wit and warmth as well as twists galore. This is the first collaboration the team at Quay Street, Harlan and myself have done with Amazon and we are delighted to be partnering with them.’

Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee will executive produce via Quay Street Productions, which is part of ITV Studios.

Wayne Che Yip will executive produce and direct the first two episodes, while also Matt Strevens will produce.

Quay Street Productions and Amazon MGM Studios produce in association with Coben’s Final Twist Productions.
