Police are searching for a group of thieves after a series of break-and-enters at tobacconists across Queensland’s south-east this morning.
Multiple tobacconists were targeted throughout the night in a series of ram raids and break-and-enters between North Ipswich and Helensvale, with CCTV capturing a ute being reversed into a roller door.
Just after 1am, a group of males allegedly rammed a business on Discovery Drive in Helensvale with a black dual cab ute, before leaving the scene with a number of items.
An hour later another business was rammed on Logan Road in Stones Corner, before leaving in what authorities believe was the same black ute.
Just before 3am, a business was broken into on Cavendish Road in Coorparoo using crowbars, before a group left in an unknown SUV.
Crowbars were used to open security doors at another tobacconist on Downs Street in North Ipswich about 45 minutes later.
The group left that location in a blue SUV with a sum of cash.
Meanwhile, earlier in the night, unknown offenders broke into a business on Collingwood Drive in Collingwood Park, near Ipswich around 7pm using a tool to smash the front door.
Initial investigations suggest the incidents may have been carried out by the same group of offenders, but police are continuing work to determine the links between the incidents.
They are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision in or around these areas at the time of the incidents to come forward.
