Police allege the man killed his 78-year-old mum in her Yangebup home, in Perth’s south, sometime between Saturday and Monday.

Neighbours told 9News yesterday there was allegedly a disturbance at the home in recent weeks, and the woman had asked for their help.

Yesterday, the otherwise quiet suburban street was a busy crime scene, police cars parked outside the home, which was cordoned off, and forensic teams were combing the area for evidence.

He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear in Fremantle Magistrates Court today.

Investigations are continuing.
