Police are investigating after shots were fired at a home with nine people inside – including children – from a car that was set alight in Sydney’s south-west.

The shots sparked calls to police about 11.45pm yesterday on Cabramatta Road, Cabramatta about 25 kilometres from the CBD.

Witnesses told officers multiple shots were fired from a white Toyota Corolla that mounted the kerb and then fled the scene.

Five adults and four children inside the house at the time weren’t hurt.

It’s unclear how many people were in the car, which was found on fire shortly after in Hamel Road, Mount Pritchard, less than 10 minutes’ drive further west.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze and police confirmed it was the same car.

After beginning forensic testing on the car, they established two crime scenes and appealed for anyone with information or footage to come forward.
