Teenagers were allegedly inside a stolen car that was shot at by police after it was driven dangerously towards officers in Brisbane‘s west.

Police spotted a 2015 Volkswagen Polo, which was reported stolen from Ashgrove on Monday, driving from Oxley to Toowong yesterday afternoon.

Its driver allegedly drove at officers when they attempted to intercept the car on Blunder Road in Oxley.

An officer then shot at the vehicle, Queensland Police confirmed.

”The Volkswagen was located abandoned on Fredrick Street in Toowong and four people allegedly from the vehicle were located and taken into custody a short time later,” police said in a statement.

Two of the people arrested have today been charged. 

A 17-year-old boy from Zillmere was charged with two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unsupervised driving, enter dwelling and commit indictable offence, and receiving tainted property.

A 14-year-old girl from Stafford was charged with three counts each of enter premises and commit an indictable offence and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and wilful damage by graffiti.

Investigations are ongoing.

The matter will continue to be investigated by the Ethical Standards Command and is subject to oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
