Young woman divides the internet after creating a grim ‘just in case I go missing’ binder – complete with fingerprints, DNA and hair samples

  • A woman has prepared five DNA samples ‘just in case’ she goes missing
  • The small business owner detailed the samples in a series of TikTok videos
  • Inside the binder are hair samples, fingerprints, handwritten notes and records
  • Some on TikTok were onboard with the idea while others were firmed against it

A small business owner has left thousands concerned after prepping DNA samples ‘just in case’ she goes missing.

The founder of Savor, an office supplies brand, is well prepared if she’s ever kidnapped or abducted, and shared a series of TikTok videos of the five things she’s placed inside a binder for detectives to use.

‘Tell me you’re listening to a little too much crime junkies without telling me,’ she captioned the first clip.

Inside the binder is a lock of hair, fingerprint samples, handwritten notes, medical records and a list of her exes closest friends.

The first TikTok has since been viewed more than 7.4million times, with some believing this is a ‘recipe for disaster’ as the binder is more likely to be stolen than for the woman to go missing.

First the woman chopped off a piece of her hair and placed it in a small plastic bag ‘just in case’ it’s needed for DNA testing.

Next, she said her friends and exes will be questioned first, so she included a list of who she knows and has previously dated.

‘This might be overboard, but I added clean fingerprints just in case there are latent prints they need to match,’ the woman said.

She also included half a page of a handwritten note to ‘give a good sample for analysis’.

The woman also included a list of medical records for ‘forensic evidence’ and to ‘inform loved ones of essential health needs’.

In a follow-up video she also took a cheek swab and placed it in a plastic bag in the binder.

Opinions on the binder full of personal samples were hugely divided, and some even expressed concern about the woman’s wellbeing.

‘Are you okay?’ one person asked, another said: ‘Do you need help?’

‘I think there’s a fine line between being prepared and paranoia,’ a third said.

‘It’s screaming “I wanna get framed”,’ another added.

Someone else raised a flaw in the idea: ‘Ok but am I the only one who thinks that this is the recipe to disaster? A criminal finds it, boom. Identity and things (accounts, money) stolen.’

On the other side of the spectrum some ‘loved the idea’.

‘I’m so glad I’m not the only one who’s thought about this. I’m going to do this now!’ one woman wrote.
