A woman accused of fatally running down her sister after a roadside argument and then driving off has pleaded to minor offences after her charges were downgraded.
Anong died and her sister drove off with the car door open.
Luk pleaded not guilty and her lawyers tried to have the charges dropped at a Melbourne Magistrates Court hearing in August 2023, arguing it was a “freakish” accident.
She was committed to stand trial after Magistrate Brett Sonnet found videos from the scene were subject to different interpretations.
However, prosecutors agreed to vacate her trial dates today after she admitted to two minor offences.
Luk, who is on bail, stood in Melbourne’s County Court as she pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle carelessly and being a learner driver who drove without supervising driver beside her.
She will return to court to face a pre-sentence hearing on August 5.
