Woman rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being mauled by an American bulldog outside Tesco as man is arrested

A woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after she was mauled by a white American Bulldog. 

She was rushed to hospital after she was attacked outside a Tesco in Salisbury, Whiltshire on Saturday, January, 14, 2023. 

The male owner of the dog was arrested at the scene and taken into custody on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, according to Wiltshitre Police. 

The woman’s injuries are considered serious but not life-theatening and she is being treated in hospital.

The dog was removed from the scene and was relocated into appropriate care.

The owner is still in custody following the attack outside ther supermarket on Castle Street, Salisbury.

This comes just days after a dog walker was mauled to death by eight dogs during her shift as a walker in Surrey. 

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the 28-year-old woman from London died at the scene.

None of the dogs seized by police were classed as dangerous, with breeds including two dachshunds, a cockapoo, a collie and Shiva the Leonberger.

The police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward with any information about Saturday’s incident.
