- Church confirmed just after midday on Friday the animals had been rescued
Three camels have been spotted causing havoc along a busy road after escaping from a church nativity scene.
The Bridgeman Baptist Community Church, in Bridgeman Downs, northern Brisbane, confirmed the curious animals had wandered off with the trio seen walking along the side of a road past a string of cars.
They were seen heading down Albany Creek Road at about 9am on Friday, causing headaches for commuters on their way to work.
‘Our camels got a bit lost on the way to Bethlehem! Gladly they’re back safe and sound now,’ the church confirmed just after midday.
The camels brought traffic to a standstill with many motorists capturing the bizarre sight.
A spokesperson for the church told Daily Mail Australia the camels had been a part of their Christmas shows and were looked after by a local company specialising in camel rides.
