Dynamite’ audio recordings ‘reveal the identity of man who hid M25 road rage killer Kenneth Noye’ 

The identity of a person who harboured M25 road rage killer Kenneth Noye while he hid from police has apparently been unearthed in new evidence.

Paul Blanchard, a retired accountant, says he has ‘dynamite’ recordings that expose the man’s role in helping Noye, 75, evade the law.

Mr Blanchard insists the man should face justice and says he intends to hand the tapes over to British police, The Mirror reports.

He adds that the recordings cover 500 hours of interviews with contemporaries of gangster John ‘Goldfinger’ Palmer, one of whom is the man in question.

Palmer, who was fatally shot eight years ago in his Essex garden, famously stood trial for the 1983 Brink’s-Mat robbery.

Mr Blanchard said the man who confessed to helping Noye hide out in Tenerife was recorded by a writer for research on an unpublished autobiography.

The man was heard to say: ‘I take him away from everybody – only God knows where he is.’

When prompted by the writer ‘this is while Noye is on the run?’, the man answers: ‘Exactly. I was involved because John Palmer told me to be involved. I’m too happy to help.’

‘[Noye] liked me a lot. He respected me and saw me as a man of business.’ He goes on to brag about having a ‘lot of contacts everywhere in the world’.

The revelation comes amid a new six-part BBC drama exploring the Brink’s-Mat gold robbery due to air next month.

The Gold stars Hugh Bonneville, Jack Lowden, Dominic Cooper and Charlotte Spencer, following the trail of violence in the aftermath of the £26million raid. In 1985, Noye stabbed to death Detective Constable John Fordham in the grounds of Kent mansion. He was cleared of murder.

However, he and Hatton Garden heist mastermind Brian Reader were both convicted of handling 11 of the stolen gold bars and sent to prison from 14 years. Twice refused parole, Noye was freed on licence in 1994.

But in 1996, Noye went on to stab Stephen Cameron, 21, on an M25 slip road near Swanley, Kent, in 1996.  The cold-blooded murder took place in front of Mr Cameron’s 17-year-old fiancée

After the 1996 M25 attack, Noye fled, arranged for the Land Rover he was driving to be disposed of, and flew to Spain where he lived under a false name until his arrest in 1998.

When he was convicted of murder in 2000, he was handed a life sentence with a minimum of 16 years.
