A Tik Tok user has claimed SeatGeek ‘scammed’ her by allowing her to buy fake tickets to a Taylor Swift concert from its website and confirming they were validated.

Marisella LaFata, 27, flew from Florida with her two children to see the pop star perform at the Met Life stadium in New Jersey on Friday but was denied entry because the tickets weren’t real.

She claimed she purchased two tickets for $790 and was told by resale platform SeatGeek that the tickets were validated and legitimate.

But LaFata was turned away from the concert, where 82,000 Swifties gathered for the Eras Tour, and she took to Tik Tok to hit out at the company in videos shared with her 880,000 followers.

SeatGeek said the tickets were not purchased through its website but through social media and an agent mistakenly thought she was a customer.

A group of other fans at the venue were also reportedly denied entry after spending $300 each on fake tickets.

‘SeatGeek you are a f****** a****** because I emailed you to make sure my tickets were validated and you said they were validated and legitimate tickets and now we can’t get into MetLife Stadium,’ LaFata said in the video.

‘You are not legit, don’t ever buy SeatGeek tickets. Taylor Swift we tried to see you.

‘I flew my 1-year-old and 2-year-old from Florida to New York to see Taylor Swift at MetLife Stadium… but I got scammed through SeatGeek.

‘So SeatGeek, you’d better fix yourself because you’re about to get canceled.’

But SeatGeek denied the claim that the tickets were bought through its site and left a comment on the video.

‘Glad we could get in touch! Sorry we were not able to help as the tickets in questions were not purchased through SeatGeek,’ it wrote.

LaFata was left angry and posted another video to share her ‘receipts’ and said she emailed SeatGeek before and after purchasing the tickets to see if they were genuine.

‘I emailed SeatGeek multiple times to say can you verify these tickets through this account and gave them my account,’ she said.

‘They repeated my account information, the time of the concert and everything and it said “you have validated tickets, they are legit and you will get into the show. We are excited to see you have fun.”

‘That’s why I am mad at SeatGeek and they are “trying” to fix it but they are really gaslighting me in their last comment which makes no sense.’

She claimed the company messaged her to fix the issue but did not sort it out and didn’t respond to her messages ‘for a while’.

LaFata then called the company and added: ‘People pretended not to hear me and then hung on me multiple times.

‘So their customer service is really low quality. So don’t shop at SeatGeek because they literally don’t care about their customers.’

She claimed she was able to put the tickets back up for sale on the website despite the fact they were fake and asked for SeatGeek to ‘explain yourselves’.

And she shared a picture of her receipt which showed she bought two tickets to the concert at the MetLife stadium on Friday for a total of $790.

LaFata also provided a screenshot of an exchange with a SeatGeek employee where she was told: ‘It’s a valid and legitimate ticket.

SeatGeek told Dailymail.com she bought the tickets on social media and an employee thought she was a customer when responding.

It described the situation as a ‘rare and isolated error’ and offered her comparable tickets to Saturday’s show.

‘This customer did not purchase tickets on SeatGeek. They were fraudulent tickets posted on social media,’ a spokesman for the company said.

‘When she reached out to our customer service team, an agent mistakenly thought she was a customer.

‘This was a rare and isolated error. Because of the confusion, our team is working with her to see how we can resolve.

‘We never recommend purchasing tickets on social media. All purchases on SeatGeek are protected by our Buyer Guarantee.’

Dailymail.com has contacted LaFata for comment.

But other unlucky fans were stuck outside as they were denied entry as they had bought fake tickets.

One group is reported to have paid $300 per ticket but were turned away.

Demand is high for Swift’s first tour since 2018 and fans have been shelling thousands of dollars each to see her perform live.

Her much anticipated tour began chaotically with millions unable to buy tickets as the ticketing process on Ticketmaster descended into chaos with constant crashes due to high demand.

Earlier this year group of around 320 fans filed a lawsuit against the world’s largest ticket marketplace and its parent-company, Live Nation, for ‘intentionally’ charging ‘sky high fees’ and selling the ‘tickets to scalpers.’

The plaintiffs, demanded at least $2,500 each in damages, and claimed that the ticketing giant violated antitrust laws.

Swift is also playing at the MetLife Stadium New Jersey on Saturday and Sunday.
