A jury in New York City found her guilty on five of the six counts in December 2021, including the most serious one—trafficking in minors for sex.

She is referred to in court filings as the house manager at the Epstein residence in Palm Beach, where she controlled the staff, managed the finances, and coordinated social events.
In a 2003 Vanity Fair feature, Epstein claimed that Ms. Maxwell was his “best friend” rather than a paid team member.
