Saudi-funded LIV Golf accused of using a lawsuit with PGA to spy on the families of 9/11 victims

  • Saudi backed LIV Golf is accused of tracking the families of 9/11 victims who are also represented by PGA’s public affairs company Clout
  • Clout claimed that the Saudi-led league is using a third party to spy on the 9/11 Justice League who have protested LIV Golf events
  • Clout has ties with 9/11 Justice League which is suing Saudi Arabia concerning the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks
  • LIV and PGA Golf have been in an ongoing legal battle since last year when the Saudi funded-league lured famous golf stars to join their group

Saudi-backed LIV Golf allegedly used a lawsuit against the PGA tour ‘to build an intelligence file’ on the families of 9/11 victims who are critical of the sports league.

The claim was made by Clout Public Affairs – PGA’s representative – that also has ties with the group 9/11 Justice which is suing Saudi Arabia concerning the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The 9/11 Justice group protested the Saudi funded-league last year in Portland and New Jersey and threatened to strike again.

LIV is accused of tracking the justice group communications with Clout and monitoring members’ activities by using a third-party system, according to Bloomberg.

‘LIV wants Clout’s communications with 9/11 Justice, a group of victims and families who have advocated for years in favor of full disclosure and accountability regarding the Kingdom’s role in the September 11, 2001, terror attacks.’

LIV Golf and several of its players sued the PGA Tour in August over alleged antitrust violations, stemming from the Tour’s decision to ban any golfers who signed with the Saudi-backed circuit.

The PGA countersued in September, claiming LIV Golf is using antitrust laws ‘as a cudgel’ to undermine the Tour’s existing contracts with players.

Several big names, including major winners such as Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Cameron Smith, and Bryson DeChambeau, have been lured to LIV Golf with lucrative signing bonuses reportedly worth as much as $100million to $200million.

LIV previously argued that PGA hired the 9/11 Justice groups to protest at their golf events in retaliation, according to the news outlet.

Meanwhile, the newest claims against LIV might be the group’s response to halting the 9/11 group from ruining the golf league’s reputation.

‘[LIV Golf] seeks information not only on Clout’s work regarding LIV and golf, but chillingly, it also seeks to sift any communications Clout has had with 9/11 families about the Saudi league, their sovereign wealth fund, and the agents that have been hired to track and monitor 9/11 families in the United States,’ the motion reads.

LIV golfers are set to play in the Masters in April after the contention between the Saudi-led league and PGA left uncertainty over whether the divide between golf was so strong that LIV rebels would be turned away.

The decision has been criticized by the organization 9/11 Families United, who said in a statement: ‘In the aftermath of 9/11, our country agreed we would ‘Never Forget’ that horrible day.

‘The only reason the Saudis launched LIV was to try to make the world forget who they are and what they did, including their role in 9/11.

‘Anyone who truly vowed to “never forget” should be appalled by the decision by these golfers to put money ahead of their own country.’

The group called on LIV to be forbidden to play at the Master.

‘If they are welcomed with open arms, we will be at their front door to protest in April.’
