Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was captured on the House floor late Friday holding up her cell phone with former President Donald Trump on the line.

After the House Republicans’ failed 14th vote to elect GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy to the speakership, Greene tried getting Rep. Matt Rosendale to speak with the former president.

‘It was the perfect phone call,’ Greene tweeted, sharing Bloomberg’s photo of the moment, where Trump’s initials ‘DT’ were clearly seen on her iPhone screen.

Rosendale, a Republican from Montana, had yelled out the name of Rep. Andy Biggs during the 14th round of voting.

On the 15th, Rosendale shouted out ‘present’ – after McCarthy had received enough votes to finally clinch the speakership.

During the 14th round, he was just one of four Republicans who shouted out names other than McCarthy.

The two most prominent ‘Never Kevin’ Republicans, Reps. Matt Gaetz and Lauren Boebert, had voted ‘present,’ but it wasn’t enough to get McCarthy across the line.

Republicans first tried to recess until Monday – but halfway through the vote McCarthy rushed to the dais, encouraging other Republicans to do the same and change their votes, as it looks like a 15th attempt could be a success.

The ‘perfect phone call’ was what Trump had called his conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a conversation that would get him impeached for the first time.

He held up Congressionally approved funding in an effort to try and pressure Zelensky to announce investigations into Joe and Hunter Biden.

Trump perceived now President Joe Biden as his biggest threat in the 2020 election.

Looking ahead to 2024, Trump has already announced a presidential bid, but for several days his encouragement to have House Republicans back McCarthy was ignored.

It took until Friday – and McCarthy making a number of concessions to conservatives –  for the final votes he needed to head his way.

‘BIG NIGHT FOR AMERICA!’ Trump wrote on Truth Social around 7 p.m. teasing McCarthy’s eventual win.

He was elected speaker at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, after two rounds of late night voting.
