  • Her parents said her disappearance is out of character

The heartbroken parents of a Melbourne woman who has been missing for 26 days issued a plea for the public to help bring their daughter home.

Missing Wantirna woman Sarah Weatherstone, 28, was last seen leaving a factory on Vespa Drive in Narre Warren, south-east Melbourne, at about 4.30pm on March 23.

She was due to celebrate her 28th birthday with loved ones on April 13 and head on a family trip to Queensland later this week.

Her devastated mother, Judith, has widely shared photos of her daughter – who suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder – across social media in the hope she will be found safe.

On Tuesday she said Sarah’s disappearance has been a ‘living nightmare’.

‘We just really want her home. It’s like she’s vanished. She’s a very family orientated girl.’

Victoria Police conducted a three-day search of the Hallam Valley Wetlands after Sarah was reported missing.

The search was assisted by the Air Wing, Search and Rescue, SES, police drones and the Mounted Branch.

Senior Constable Adam Read said police did not find any of Sarah’s belongings during the search.

One key item officers were looking for was Sarah’s phone, which last pinged on March 24 and led officers to comb through the wetlands.

On March 23, Sarah had visited the factory, where she was last seen, with her friends but left alone.

Mr Read said police aren’t treating Sarah’s disappearance as suspicious but hold concerns for her welfare.

Mrs Weatherstone wrote online that she’s worried about her daughter as her disappearance is ‘out of character’.

Police described Sarah as of Caucasian appearance with blonde hair.

She was last seen wearing a green jumper, cream track pants, white sneakers and a yellow singlet.

Anyone with information on Sarah’s whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
