Police officer fighting for his life after being hit and dragged by car after trying to arrest three people in Western Australia

A West Australian police officer is fighting for life after he was hit by a car and dragged along a road.

The policeman had been trying to pull over the vehicle that allegedly had stolen number plates in Ascot in Perth‘s east at about 1am on Thursday.

As he tried to detain the three people inside, the officer was hit and dragged underneath the car.

He was given CPR at the scene and was rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical incident.

Three people have been arrested and are assisting police with inquiries.
