The musician had hoped for another award for his current album “Breezy”, but he went empty-handed at this year’s Grammy Awards: Robert Glasper won the prize for the best R&B album. Chris got upset about this after the award ceremony – but now he rowed back and apologized to Robert.
After the Grammy Awards, the singer opened up about the outcome of the evening in his Instagram story: “You and I should never be in the same category … two completely different vibes and genres”, the “Under The Influence “-performer excited. Only a few hours later, however, he realized that the problem was not Robert, but the organization behind the decision. “Congratulations my brother… I want to apologize if you were upset about my reaction at the Grammys,” the singer wrote to the pianist in a message that he also shared in his story.
Chris also caused a stir at the American Music Awards: He didn’t show up for the event for reasons that are unclear, which is why Kelly Rowland accepted his award for Favorite Male R&B Artist. However, the audience booed the musician at the announcement.
