Monique Samuels, who used to be on “Real Housewives of Potomac,” said that her marriage to Chris Samuels was “struggling in some areas,” but they are not getting a divorce.
“Are Chris and I getting a divorce? No, we’re not getting a divorce,” in a YouTube video from Oct. 17, Monique said while sitting next to Chris. “Are Chris and I going in different directions? Absolutely not..”
Her statement makes it clear that Monique and Chris Samuels are not going to get a divorce.
As if the above statement was not enough, Monique said: “We are most definitely still together. We haven’t given up on our marriage. We didn’t break up and we’re not looking to divorce.”
“It’s no secret that Chris and I have been struggling in some parts of our marriage, and if you watched ‘Love & Marriage: DC’ last year, you saw the fights and everything that was going on,” the former “Housewife” said on YouTube on Monday to address the rumors.
“It was confusing and crazy leading up to the 10-year mark of our marriage. When you’ve been married that long and you feel like your needs aren’t being met or you’re not being heard, you start to get angry and you think, ‘Oh my god, is this what life is going to be?’ I just can’t take it any longer.’ So what you saw on the last season of “Love & Marriage: DC” was my cry for help.”
Monique said that she often felt like Chris didn’t hear her when she told him about her needs or problems. She also said that she has always been “100%” real and that she is putting herself out there even though she knows “I’m going to be judged.”
Monique Said They Wanted To Showcase Their Marriage Repair Journey On “Love & Marriage: DC”
Monique Samuels said that they had planned to show how her marriage to Chris Samuels was fixed as part of the next season of “Love & Marriage: DC,” but when the rumors started to spread, they had to give away the storyline.
She said that she and Chris didn’t want to get a divorce, so they decided to go to counseling separately to “work on their own problems” and “focus on ourselves.”
“We decided to spend a couple of nights apart while we went to different counselors,” she said. “We’re talking to each other more than we have in a long time.”
She went on to say, “We are definitely still together. We haven’t given up on our marriage, we haven’t broken up, and we have no plans to divorce. We are just trying to improve.”
Chris, who had been quiet for most of the statement, said that the rumors made them laugh and didn’t bother them at all. But he said, “It’s very disappointing and it’s a shame that people would put things out there without checking the facts.”
