At the age of 75 Mullins passed away and because of her large size, she was released through a hole.

According to the sources, Mullins was buried in her four-poster bed.

Being an entrepreneur, Mahala Mullins was a family person as well. She was a married woman and she also had several children.

As per the sources, she was married to John Mullins and the couple lived on top of the ridge in this cabin.

At the time of this writing, the number of her kids remains unknown but this is reported that Mahala was infected with elephantiasis after giving birth to her 19th child which eventually enlarged her permanently.

Furthermore, Mahala lost her husband and sons in mountain fights. And Mahala supported her large family afterward.

As mentioned earlier, Mahala was from the Melungeon family roots which was considered to be a mixture of European, Native American, and African ancestry.
