A motorcyclist was killed in an accident on Caldwell Lane at about 11 pm on Thursday. Parker Glynn Nugent, 17, was driving a Kawasaki Ninja north on General Bate Drive when the motorbike failed to stop at the T intersection with Caldwell Lane.

The rider flipped the motorbike over and slid through the intersection into a railing. A female passenger on the motorbike suffered minor injuries. Nugent was sent to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died.

Nugent was riding his motorbike north on General Bate Drive when it failed to stop at the T junction with Caldwell Lane. The rider flipped the motorbike over and crashed into a railing just before the junction.
A female passenger on the motorcycle suffered minor injuries but survived. Nugent passed away after being taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Parker had a great life. His grin and passion for life radiated out to all around him. Parker has always liked being on wheels, and skateboarding has been his passion since childhood.
Parker loved being out on the water, whether wakeboarding on Smith Lake or boogie boarding at Redondo Beach. He also developed an interest in photography and movies and hoped to learn Italian and travel to Italy to study abroad.
He was an active member of Young Life in Franklin, Tennessee, where he shared his faith with others. Parker made the most of his life.

Parker Glynn Nugent, 17 years old, of Franklin, Tennessee, died on Thursday, June 8, 2023.
Scott and Jeanine Nugent, his parents, raised him in Torrance, California. His grandpa, Anthony Arico, and cousin Lilly Parrish died before him.
He is survived by his sisters, Ashley Nugent and Ellie Nugent; grandma, Diane Arico; grandparents, Bill and Dawna Nugent; aunts and uncles, Debbie (John) Duke, Christine (Louis) Parrish, and Aunt Nancy “Sassy”; Parrish and Hightower cousins; and a beloved puppy, Chloe “Dogga.”
Parker’s funeral will be conducted at Church of the City Franklin on Friday at 11 am. There will be a reception following. In celebration of Parker’s vibrant personality, the Nugent family requests that everyone attending wear bright colors (no black, please).
His family and friends are seeking cash to create the Parker Nugent Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of his love and aptitude in these areas. 100% of the cash generated will go toward a scholarship for a child in need at Rocketown (rocketown.org) or a senior at Centennial High School (Franklin, TN) pursuing their studies in cinema or photography.
