On January 20, Christopher Wood, Ava’s Father, murdered his daughter in their Baldwinsville, New York, home before shooting himself.

Heather and Christopher, Ava’s parents, were still legally married even though they were no longer together at the time of her death. Ava primarily stayed with her Father.

On January 20, 2023, Heather Wood called 911 to report that her daughter Ava hadn’t arrived at school and that neither she nor her Father, Christopher Wood, was answering calls or knocking at the door.

Heather didn’t file criminal charges against Christopher because she hoped to save their marriage, even though he followed her in March 2022 and assaulted her two days before the shooting.

Ava Wood story: Her life and untimely death

Numerous reports claim that a 14-year-old girl was killed by her Father in what investigators believe to be a murder-suicide.

The heartbreaking murder-suicide scene was found when the Police entered the home using Heather’s keys.

According to the source, the victim’s mother called to inform us that her daughter had not arrived at school, causing Police to be sent to the residence at around 8:30 am for a status update.

When authorities conducted a welfare check on the House at 6 Triangle Place, they found the bodies of Ava Wood and her Father, Christopher Wood.

Police suspect Father shot his daughter before taking a shotgun on himself; however, they are still investigating the murders. He was found in one bedroom, while she was spotted dead in a bed.

Her memorial said that the honor student and soccer player at Durgee Junior High were “well recognized for the close relationships she had with family and friends” and was “born with a competitive nature and a love for life.”

The terrible killing of young Ava devastated the hearts of her friends and the school community because they adored her.

At St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 47 Syracuse St. in Baldwinsville, a candlelight memorial and prayer service will be at 7 pm on Sunday. On the church’s YouTube channel, the ceremony will be live-streamed.
