Chelsea youngster Angelo Gabriel is quietly having a great breakout season in European football during his spell in France.
Angelo Gabriel, who’s just 19, moved to Stamford Bridge last summer after emerging as a super young talent for Santos.
We liked what we saw from the Brazilian winger during Chelsea’s pre-season, but he moved to French top-flight club Strasbourg on a one-year loan deal.
If you consider it’s his first experience of European football, Angelo is doing a fantastic job with his development in Patrick Vieira’s Strasbourg side.

Remarkably, Angelo is recorded as one of the best Under-21s players in Europe’s top five leagues when it comes to most key passes this season.
The on-loan Chelsea attacker has 15 key passes for Strasbourg, which puts him above the likes of Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham and Bayern Munich talent Jamal Musiala.

Angelo Gabriel is a future Chelsea star
We’ve seen success in the French division doesn’t always translate to the same in England, but we’re holding out high hopes for Angelo in the future.
He’s a very skilful left-footer that loves to drift infield from the right wing, which is why you can make a natural comparison to Chelsea’s Noni Madueke.
Gianluca Di Marzio previously reported last summer that Mauricio Pochettino wanted to keep Angelo with Chelsea’s senior squad this season. It looks like the club came to the right conclusion of sorting out a loan deal.
Angelo is still very much a raw talent that is a long way off the finished article, but we’ll be intrigued to see how he compares when he rejoins the Blues in the summer for pre-season.
In fairness, the individual statistics he’s posting in France are impressive.
