For some Chelsea players, Euro 2024 has been a very good tournament.

Cole Palmer, Conor Gallagher and Marc Cucurella have all made it to tonight’s final, where England and Spain will go head-to-head for the European Championship trophy.

For others, it has been an extremely disappointing tournament.

For example, Armando Broja made just one start in Germany and was knocked out in the group stage with Albania.

Romelu Lukaku managed to go one step further with Belgium, but the striker failed to score a single goal in the competition. The Belgian media were not impressed with Lukaku‘s performance against France in the last 16.

Euro 2024 disappointing XI

With Euro 2024 about to finish, Spanish newspaper Marca has made a starting XI of the most disappointing players at the tournament.

There were some big names included, such as Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo, arguably the greatest goalscorer in football history, failed to find the back of the net once during his time in Germany.

As well as the Al-Nassr star, Lukaku was also included in the XI after his own struggles in front of goal.

Euro 2024 will certainly be a tournament that both players will want to forget.

Romelu Lukaku could still replace Victor Osimhen at Napoli this summer

While Lukaku failed to produce at this year’s European Championship, it looks like the 31-year-old could still get a move to Napoli during this transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, Napoli are still keen on signing Lukaku, though bringing him in is likely to hinge on Victor Osimhen’s future.

The same outlet claims that Osimhen is attracting strong interest from Saudi Arabia, so a departure this summer does look possible.

Regarding Lukaku, Sky Sports’ report says Chelsea value him at around £35m. Whether Napoli or another club are willing to pay that remains to be seen, though. His performances at the Euros would not have done the Blues any favours.
