Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino thinks one of his players finally understands what it means to play for the club.
Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 3-1 yesterday thanks to a brace from Conor Gallagher and a strike by Enzo Fernandez.
Fernandez also scored in Chelsea’s 3-1 win against Aston Villa prior to their victory over Palace. And speaking between those two fixtures, Mauricio Pochettino told Sky Sports that his compatriot now understands what being a Chelsea player is all about.
Things are going well for Fernandez now, but that has not always been the case this season.
One pundit claimed last month that the Blues’ midfield of the Argentine and Moises Caicedo would not worry him if he had to come up against it, criticising the duo’s performance versus Fulham.

Enzo Fernandez starting to understand what it means to play for Chelsea
Pochettino feels Fernandez is now adapting to life as a Chelsea player.
On the 23-year-old, the former Paris Saint-Germain at Tottenham Hotspur boss said: “Enzo after one year and a few months has started to understand what it means to play for Chelsea. What it means to live here in London and be in the Premier League.
“The quality is there, he’s amazing and yes maybe he needs to play with this feeling [anger] but that is how you find your balance as a player. When you are young you need to improve to try to do things, but it’s not a magic touch, it’s about talking, understanding, training and repeating.”

Enzo Fernandez at his best right now
Since he joined Chelsea, this is probably the best Fernandez has played. He is scoring goals for the Blues, while his all-round midfield play has been exceptional.
For example, in the win against Palace, Fernandez made more accurate passes than any other player on the pitch bar Axel Disasi. Both men recorded 110 (WhoScored).
The World Cup winner also made three tackles, showing that he can do the dirty side of the game, too.
Ultimately, we think Pochettino can be really happy with Fernandez right now and hopefully he can carry this form into the Carabao Cup final next Sunday.
