Everton manager Sean Dyche has now stated that he is a massive fan of one Chelsea man.

He claimed in his pre-match press conference that he was an admirer of the person in question ahead of coming up against him on Monday night.

The last game of the weekend will see Chelsea welcome the Toffees to Stamford Bridge, with three points close to a necessity.

This is to keep alive any fading hopes of qualifying for Europe for next season.

Mauricio Pochettino is under pressure to deliver this, with it thought by many that it could be key in him keeping his job.

Sean Dyche admires Mauricio Pochettino

It already feels as if the Argentine has lost some fans, although it is fair to say some struggled to buy in in the first place.

Dyche however has shared just how much of an admirer he is of Pochettino, and how he thinks there is plenty of talent at his disposal.

He said: “We can’t control other teams’ landscapes and how the table looks for others.

“I have always admired [Mauricio] Pochettino, he’s someone I have a lot of respect for. They’ve obviously had a topsy-turvy kind of season by their standards. A lot of changes, a lot of changes in culture.

“They are a good outfit, they have spent a lot of money over the last few years that everyone knows about and without a doubt they have a lot of quality. So we’ve got to make sure that we deliver, don’t rely on anyone else other than ourselves.”

The Blues will be looking for some kind of revenge after being defeated by Monday’s opposition in the reverse fixture earlier this season.

Reece James injury update

That game was the last time Reece James had been seen in a Chelsea shirt, with him being forced off injured and later undergoing surgery. There is currently no update if he will play again this season.

Goodson Park was also the scene for the debut of goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, with him playing near enough every game possible since that day.

Pochettino will likely be relying again on the brilliance of Cole Palmer to carry his side to a result, which has been the story on a number of occasions this season.
