Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka delivered high praise on one teammate after Sunday’s cup win against Leicester City.
Chelsea booked their spot into the last four of the FA Cup by winning 4-2 at home to Leicester this afternoon.
For Carney Chukwuemeka, he made a big impact off the bench by scoring in stoppage time and putting the Blues 3-2 ahead at the time. Incidentally, it was a stunning assist from Cole Palmer with a backheel that created the goal.
Speaking after Chelsea’s weekend victory, Chukwuemeka hailed Palmer after setting up his strike.
Chukwuemeka said via BBC Sport (2:58pm, 17 March): “The coach said go on and express yourself, which I did. Cole said to me before the game, if I come on, he will assist me and fair play. His IQ is amazing, I knew as soon as I played it, he would find me. Fair play to him.”
Cole Palmer magic
We think Chelsea’s teammates must simply love playing alongside Palmer right now.
On top of his 14 goals for the Blues this season, Palmer’s also got a further 12 assists.

The 21-year-old attacking playmaker showed such great vision and skill with his assist for Chukwuemeka versus Leicester.
Speaking via Chelsea’s official app (2:35pm, 17 March), Jason Cundy described Palmer as “genius” for his assist in the FA Cup. It’s the sort oof thing he’s been doing all season in truth, though.
Whether he’s picking the ball up on the right or in central pockets of space, he’s such a huge problem for opposition defences.
He’s the first name in our Chelsea line-up right now based off his overall impact, but can he now find a way into England’s best XI? It would be great to see him involved against Brazil and Belgium during the next fortnight across the international break.
Perhaps there’s still a chance Chelsea can salvage a very poor season with the form and quality of Palmer going forward.
