Chelsea could face competition from Bayern Munich if they want to sign one striker this summer.
During the January transfer window, Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy was named as a potential centre-forward option for Chelsea by the Evening Standard.
And now journalist Christian Falk has claimed that Bayern want to sign Guirassy, who has a €20m (£17m) release clause.
Bayern’s interest in Guirassy is not a complete surprise, as the 27-year-old has really shone in the Bundesliga this season.
In 15 games, Guirassy has scored 17 goals. He could be the perfect back-up striker to Harry Kane. With a record like that, though, he may want to be more than someone’s deputy.
Chelsea’s interest in Serhou Guirassy likely to have cooled
If Chelsea were actually keen on Guirassy last month, that interest in the Guinea international has probably cooled now.

While he has obviously impressed in the Bundesliga this season, the Blues may feel that they can sign an even better No.9 in the summer.
Unlike in January, the likes of Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney should be available. The former has a release clause in his new contract, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, which should become active at the end of the season.
As for Toney, his deal expires in 2025, so Brentford may be forced to sell him in the summer to avoid the risk of losing their talisman for nothing in the future.
Thomas Frank has already admitted that he expects to lose the 27-year-old in the next transfer window.
With both Osimhen and Toney set to become available, then, we expect Chelsea to prioritise a move for such names over Guirassy. If they cannot land either player, only then would you expect the Stuttgart star to become a viable option for them.
If Bayern do want to bring Guirassy to the Allianz Arena to provide cover for Kane, they should not have to worry about Chelsea.
