Chelsea’s summer recruit has just produced yet another piece of magic over in Brazil.

Chelsea confirmed in June that they’ve agreed a deal to sign Palmeiras youngster Estevao Willian.

The 17-year-old right-winger won’t officially move to Stamford Bridge until next summer, so Blues supporters will have to spend the next year tracking his progress while he continues his development in his native Brazil.

Estevao has just scored a stunning equalising goal in a Brazilian top-flight league match between Gremio and Palmeiras.

The game finished as a 2-2 draw, with Chelsea’s teenage star firing in a 77th minute equaliser from outside the box on his favoured left foot.

There’s been a glowing review by national media following Estevao’s latest display for Palmeiras.

Brazilian newspaper Globo wrote: “Estevao Willian – 8/10.

“Once again, he saved Palmeiras from defeat.

“In the 31st minute of the second-half, he hit a great shot from outside the area into the top corner and tied the match, which had been 2-0 for Gremio.

“From the start of the game, Estevao was the one who took responsibility, with fast plays and finishing from the right.”

It really feels like Chelsea have hit the jackpot with this signing.

Estevao has now scored three goals and made two assists in his last seven league appearances. The youngster has certainly now down a permanent starting position on that right wing.

It’s going to be a fun ride from now until the summer of 2025 watching his progress.
