A new name has emerged as a potential candidate to replace Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea manager at the end of the season.
A sacking does not look imminent, but the Chelsea board will want to see significant improvement from Mauricio Pochettino and his team between now and May.
Right now, they are 11th in the Premier League and have already blown one chance to win a trophy this season after losing 1-0 to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.
Consequently, several managers have been linked to Chelsea.
Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim is said to be on the Blues’ radar, but he is not the only name. Barcelona’s Xavi also appears to be someone who the club like.
Chelsea interested in Xavi
According to HITC, Chelsea hold an interest in Xavi, who may not be a difficult appointment to make this summer.
That is because the Barcelona legend has announced that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

“I had taken days ago but today was the moment to announce it,” Xavi said in a press conference in January as he confirmed his plans to depart the Spotify Camp Nou.
“I don’t want to be a problem. I want to be a solution for Barca as I was two years ago.”
Should Chelsea replace Mauricio Pochettino with Xavi?
If Chelsea do go on to sack Pochettino, Xavi would not be a bad name for the Blues to consider.
Still quite a young manager, the 44-year-old has done a pretty good job at Barcelona, guiding them to the La Liga title last season.
Their performances in Europe under him can certainly be questioned, but European football is not something Chelsea have to worry about right now, or at least the Champions League anyway.
But if Pochettino can get the Blues back into Europe, say the Europa League, for example, then that may be enough for him to keep his job.
