Journalist Jorge Nicola has stated that Chelsea are at the front of the queue when it comes to signing one of the top young stars in the game right now.
Investing in youth has been something that the club have not been shy to do since Todd Boehly took over near enough two years ago.
The likes of Cesare Casadei have been featured on the bench a lot in the second half of the season, although there is a lot of promise over one youngster who has not even joined up with them yet.
Kendry Paez is not able to join up with the Blues until the end of next season, however is already promising to light up the footballing world.
He seems to score an outrageous goal near enough every week right now, leaving plenty excited as to what the future holds.
Another player who holds a similar stature in the game as a young talent is Estevao Willian, who is having a great season in Brazil.
Chelsea favourites for Estevao Willian
Nicola claimed on his YouTube channel that he believes Chelsea are the favourites for his signature ahead of a couple of other Premier League sides.
He said: “I told you a few days ago that there was a big dispute between three English clubs. There is already a favourite. This team is Chelsea, the one that is willing to pay above the 60 million euros release clause.
“Neither Chelsea nor their two English rivals want to pay that fixed €60m for the deal to go through. The idea is to pay a lump sum and the rest in bonuses.
“And to try and convince Palmeiras to do the deal, Chelsea have already offered €40m in a lump sum and €25m in bonuses.”
Chelsea need to sell this summer
There will no doubt be concerned that the money being invested in the club’s future is actually having an effect on it’s ability to compete in the current day.
With it being reported that they will need to sell big this summer, seeing a crucial player such as Conor Gallagher move on would be a real blow if it is to any facilitate deals for players such as Estevao.
