A lot of Chelsea players did not perform in the club’s 2-2 draw with Sheffield United last weekend.

After beating Manchester United 4-3 in an exciting game at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea failed to get past Sheffield United.

The Blues take on Everton next and will need to perform much better to win and qualify for the Europa League.

If one particular individual fails to do so, then Mauricio Pochettino should really consider dropping him from his starting XI.

What happened in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Sheffield United?

Chelsea really should have beaten Sheffield United last Sunday, coming into the game after that incredible win against Erik ten Hag’s side.

They initially took the lead thanks to a Thiago Silva goal from a corner and while the Blades were able to equalise, Noni Madueke’s fantastic strike restored their lead.

The three points were all but guaranteed until Oli McBurnie scored in the 93rd minute.

A lot went wrong during that match for Pochettino’s men, with goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic being one individual who did not have his best game.

Mauricio Pochettino should consider dropping Djordje Petrovic

Robert Sanchez looks likely to miss Chelsea’s game against Everton tomorrow because of illness, meaning that Petrovic is set to start for the Blues.

However, if the 24-year-old makes another big mistake, then Pochettino should consider bringing Sanchez back into the side when the Spaniard is available again.

Petrovic was at fault for the first goal Chelsea conceded at Bramall Lane last Sunday, allowing Jayden Bogle to beat him at his near post.

To be fair to the Serbian, he has not actually made too many errors since joining Chelsea from New England Revolution last summer. Dropping him after a couple of bad games may seem a bit harsh.

But we are at a stage of the season now where Chelsea cannot afford to keep on making mistakes, while Sanchez was the team’s first-choice goalkeeper before he got injured.

Sanchez deserves another opportunity between the sticks before Chelsea possibly decide to sign a new shot-stopper in the summer, as the former Brighton & Hove Albion man has not even been in west London for that long.

It has been reported that the club are continuing to monitor Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper Bento.
