Chelsea have done some good transfer business so far this summer.

Costing nothing, Tosin Adarabioyo could prove to be a very smart signing, for example.

With all of his potential, Estevao Willian could also become a real star for Chelsea in the future.

However, this transfer window is unlikely to go down as a success if they do not improve their attack. With that in mind, there is one forward at Euro 2024 who they should now consider making a key target.

Chelsea trying to improve their attack

To Chelsea’s credit, they are at least trying to bolster their forward line.

Out wide, they have looked at the likes of Michael Olise and Nico Williams.

However, according to The Athletic, they had to pull out of the race for the former because of the finances involved. As for the latter, it was reported that Chelsea turned to him after losing out on Olise. As of now, though, nothing seems to be happening there.

The Blues have had no success with signing an experienced striker either, which is why now may be a good time for them to consider making Brentford’s Ivan Toney a top priority.

Ivan Toney sends reminder at Euro 2024

Toney did not have a great campaign last season, though he missed half of it because of suspension.

In total, the 28-year-old managed to score just four goals in 17 Premier League appearances.

However, his record the season before was much better, with Toney netting 20 times in 33 outings, while he also showed in England’s 2-1 win against Slovakia how much of a dominant centre-forward he can be.

It was his header that set up Harry Kane’s winner to send the Three Lions to the quarter-finals. In total, Toney won four aerial duels, according to WhoScored. Only two players on the pitch managed to win more despite the Brentford man not entering the game until the 93rd minute.

A report from GiveMeSport claims that the Bees value their talisman at £60m. If he were a few years younger, Chelsea would have probably paid that fee by now.

At 28, though, Toney could still have four–five strong seasons left in him. Really, then, Chelsea should consider making him a key target as their search for a No.9 goes on.
