Chris Sutton has made his score prediction for Chelsea against Leicester City this weekend.

Chelsea host Leicester on Sunday afternoon in the FA Cup quarter-finals, with the winners booking a trip to Wembley Stadium for the semis.

The Blues may be languishing 11th in the Premier League table right now, but they did finish as runners-up in this year’s League Cup competition. They could help salvage the season if they go one better in the FA Cup.

As for Leicester, they’re top of the Championship table right now but are engaged in a very tight battle for promotion.

BBC pundit Chris Sutton has tipped a comfortable home win for Chelsea over Leicester in Sunday’s cup showdown.

Sutton told BBC Sport: “At the moment there is quite a lot of negativity from Chelsea fans towards the club’s owners as well as manager Mauricio Pochettino, and I don’t think that is going to change whatever they do in the league between now and the end of the season. But they can still finish the season on a high with the FA Cup, where they have a good record in recent seasons…

“Chelsea have got home advantage here and I also just wonder how Leicester manager Enzo Maresca will approach this game. His side are still top of the Championship but they have had a bit of a wobble recently, with only one win in their past five league games. Maresca’s focus will definitely be on their automatic promotion bid…

“Chelsea had to battle to see off another high-flying Championship side, Leeds, in the last round but I can see them winning this one pretty comfortably.

“Sutton’s prediction: 3-0.”

Elsewhere, speaking via Sportskeeda this week, Paul Merson also predicted the Chelsea against Leicester cup tie.

Chelsea vs Leicester

Leicester got past Premier League opposition in Bournemouth during the previous cup round despite making wholesale changes to the team, so will the Foxes rest key players yet again?

Regardless of the Leicester XI this weekend, they’ll look to dominate the ball and play their style.

We anticipate a similar challenge to Chelsea’s match versus Leeds in the fifth round, which we won 3-2 because of Conor Gallagher’s 90th minute winning goal.

Our hope is Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino picks a full strength team because so much is riding on this FA Cup run.
