Jens Lehmann has reportedly been charged by police after taking a chainsaw to his neighbour’s garage.

The former Arsenal star is living back in his native Germany where he owns a property near Lake Starnberg in Bavaria.

According to Suddeutsche Zeitung, the ex-goalkeeper has been in dispute with his neighbour for some time.

And in an attempt to gain an unobstructed view of the lake from his house, Lehmann allegedly took a chainsaw to his neighbour’s garage.

The 53-year-old, who was part of Arsenal’s Invincibles squad in 2003/04, has denied all the allegations after a prosecutor brought a number of charges against him.

The police have charged him in relation to an incident alleged to have happened last July.

Prosecutors claim that a surveillance camera was tampered with after a cable was torn out of it.

This was before Lehmann is alleged to have sawn some of a roof beam off a garage, which is in mid-construction, with a chainsaw.

However, it has been alleged that the camera continued to film anyway despite being tampered with, using an inbuilt battery.

The subsequent footage supposedly captures Lehmann while the former Germany international has also been charged with fraud in an unrelated matter.

But he has denied all the charges, taking to social media to clear his name.

“The allegations made against me are not correct,” Lehmann posted on Twitter.

“The fraud allegations made against me concern an unpaid parking ticket over €90.

“The damage, as always, is the enormous damage to reputation and disregard for privacy.”

Lehmann spent five years at Arsenal having joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2003.

In his first year at Highbury, he played every Premier League match as the Gunners famously went unbeaten during the league season, winning the league in the process.

Lehmann made a grand return to Arsenal just three years after leaving when he made one appearance in 2011, coming out of retirement in the process.

After hanging up his gloves for a second time, he spent a spell coaching at the Gunners.
