Fulham are set to sign Wolves star Raul Jimenez as Aleksandar Mitrovic pushes to leave for Saudi Arabia.
However, Marco Silva is going nowhere and has told Fulham he will stay at the club despite a £40million contract offer from Al Ahli.
The Cottagers have agreed a £5.5m deal with Wolves for the transfer of Jimenez, plus bonuses, talkSPORT understands.
The Mexican’s arrival may well signal the end of Mitrovic’s time at Craven Cottage, as he looks set to move to Saudi Arabia.
Silva admitted that the striker had refused to play for Fulham on their pre-season tour.
The Serbia international was furious with the west London outfit after two bids were rejected by Al Hilal.
However, even Fulham have been left surprised by Silva’s decision to stay in the capital.
The Portuguese coach would have become one of the best-paid managers in the world had he taken Al Ahli up on their offer.
The Saudi club had made two bids for the ex-Watford boss, the last amounting £40m over two years but they will now have to look elsewhere.
Speaking on Mitrovic on Saturday, Silva said: “It’s not the ideal situation, I have to tell you.
“Not because he received an offer, it’s the situation about himself.
“As you know, he’s not going to play [Sunday against Brentford], he didn’t play last Wednesday, he’s not working properly with his team-mates and when I say this is not the ideal scenario, this is the situation.
“When it’s out of my control as a manager, this is not something that concerns me, but I would like to have a different scenario in that situation.
“I have spoken with Mitro already, he knows my opinion. I’m here to give my best for all my players, to protect them in everything that I can.
“Sometimes you have individual decisions that is for them to take care of.”
But Fulham now appear ready to move on from Mitrovic and are readying Jimenez to replace him as their main striker next season.
However, that is despite the injury problems that the 32-year-old has suffered in recent history.
Last season, Jimenez was restricted to just 20 appearances and he failed to score in the Premier League.
Mitrovic, on the other hand, was a major part of Fulham’s successful year last campaign.
In 24 Premier League appearances, the former Newcastle star netted 14 times as Silva’s side finished 10th in their first year back in the top flight.
