It looks as if Chelsea are about to make one of their bigger sales of the transfer window in just the next few days.

Ian Maatsen always looked set to be on the move, with many believing that he was pushing to make his loan move from last season to Borussia Dortmund permanent.

However, it was Aston Villa who came in with a bid that the Blues deemed as acceptable to part ways with one of their academy prospects.

Business seems to be going both ways, with reports stating that Chelsea are set to pay a substantial fee for Villa youngster Omari Kellyman.

Aston Villa fans made it clear that they were delighted with the deal to sign the Dutchman, and it seems as if one pundit with allegiances tends to agree.

Agbonlahor a big fan of signing Maatsen

Gabriel Agbonlahor took to Twitter to respond to the news, and had just one word to describe both deals going ahead.

He simply said: “Clever.”

Chelsea’s transfer business looks set to pick up now a larger transfer fee is coming their way, and the fact that they have missed out on their reported top target could see them head another way.

Chelsea miss out on Michael Olise

It was believed by many that Michael Olise was right at the top of the list for who they wanted to bring in for the second consecutive summer transfer window.

However, the financial aspects of that deal made him unattainable, with him now set to make the move to Bayern Munich.

Chelsea are reportedly still keen on bringing in a new winger for the first team, however there is surely an appetite for them to actually look for one who stars on the opposite side.

One player who has made quite the impact at Euro 2024 so far is Nico Williams, who has previously been a transfer target for the Blues.

He has already formed a connection with Marc Cucurella on the left-hand-side, with many Chelsea fans already relishing that potential combination at Stamford Bridge.
