A Gateshead pre-season friendly against Dunston was abandoned after two cars drove onto the UTS Stadium pitch after half-time.
One of the cars, which was a hearse, was left on the centre of the pitch according to the Press Association.
Both vehicles were seen driving in circles, with leaflets thrown from the window of the second car.
National League side Gateshead tweeted: “Due to an incident on the pitch occurring shortly after half time, tonight’s match has been abandoned by the referee.”
Video was then posted by someone present at the match showing the shocking and bizarre scenes.
PA also report that masked men left the hearse and drove off the pitch in the second car.
