Benoit Badiashile has put a lot of Chelsea’s success in recent weeks down to turn of form of their current first team players.

The Blues have moved into the European places in the Premier League for the first time in an extended period off the back of two big wins in the space of three days.

However, it has been claimed this is not yet enough to secure Mauricio Pochettino’s job at the club, with the owners demanding a place in the Europa League as a minimum achievment.

Their turn of form can be put down to a change of system that came in at half-time of the recent 2-2 draw with Aston Villa. Since then, they have won a combined 9-0 in two and a half games of football.

The player who has seen the biggest change to his role is Marc Cucurella, who has been inverting and cropping up in midfield roles.

This style of play has no doubt seen him deliver some of his best performances for the club, in a near two-year spell where he has struggled in the long run.

Badiashile credits Marc Cucurella for Chelsea improvements

Badiashile has now praised the Spaniard, and said his newfound role in the side is a big reason they are excelling right now.

He said to the Mail Online: “We work on this in training and the coach has made us confident with this set-up. We are trying to do it in the games and, yes, at the moment it is helping us a lot and we have to continue like this.”

Cucurella could still be sold

There is no doubting of Cucurella’s talent, with him being described as ‘fantastic’ after an appearance in the Champions League last season.

His recent turn of form has not put an end to reports that he could be on the move at the end of this season.

It was claimed today that the club would not stand in the way of a departure this summer if the right kind of bid comes in for his services.

With the turn of form, some of the top teams will no doubt be picturing him featuring for them.
