Marc Cucurella has been speaking about new Chelsea recruit Marc Guiu.

Chelsea confirmed the signing of Marc Guiu from Barcelona earlier this week, and the young striker will have teammates who will be able to help him to settle.

That includes compatriot Marc Cucurella, while the likes of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo are also Spanish speakers.

Guiu is only 18, but it has been claimed that he will be part of Chelsea’s first team this upcoming season.

The Blues still reportedly want another centre-forward but are thought to be worried about stunting Nicolas Jackson’s progress.

Marc Cucurella’s conversation with Marc Guiu

Like Guiu, Cucurella also arrived in England from Spain.

He was once on Barcelona’s books, too, and is now ready to help Guiu make a successful transition from Spanish football to English football.

Sharing what he said to Guiu following his move to Chelsea, Cucurella told Sport: “We have talked and I told him that if he needed anything to let me know.

“I am happy because he is a great player, very young, with a very promising future and we are going to take care of him so that he can play his best football.”

Why Marc Cucurella can be a good role model for Marc Guiu

Things have not always been easy for Cucurella at Chelsea.

He initially struggled at Chelsea following his big-money move from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022.

In his first season at the club, the left-back made just 21 starts in the Premier League. Being one of Chelsea’s most expensive ever signings, more was expected of him.

The following campaign, he was often behind both Levi Colwill and Ben Chilwell in the pecking order and even had to play at right-back at times.

However, Cucurella never complained and eventually finished the season as the team’s first-choice left-back, with Mauricio Pochettino utilising him as an inverted full-back.

Ultimately, Cucurella has been patient and has the right attitude. He is a great example for Guiu and other youngsters to learn from.
