Frank Lampard has now shared his honest thoughts on current Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The club legend has now told Joe that he believes that the critcisim heading the way of the Argentine may be a bit harsh when taking into account the current situation at the club.
Pressure is high on Pochettino as far as both the supporters and board members are concerned, with him failing to set the world alight so far this season.
It was reported that there was a divide amongst senior figures about what is the best course of action to take regarding the manager’s place at Stamford Bridge.
A number of other candidates have been mentioned as potential replacements already, even though the job is not currently available.
Lampard thoughts on Pochettino
Lampard has now given his take on the situation, saying that people should be wary before pinning too much blame on the boss.
He said: “I think in the summer, players moved on, perhaps rightfully so, and new players came in. I think that will have freshened up the feel. Pre-season for the new manager, respect to Mauricio because he’s known as a good manager and rightfully so. He deserves respect.

“But in my opinion, it was going to be a challenge again to keep moving forwards quickly like people would expect, and that’s proven the case. So I think you have to be very careful to point fingers at the manager himself, or at young players who are trying to find form in the team that hasn’t got that experienced spine there.”
There may have been the beginning of a relief of pressure on Pochettino’s shoulders with last night’s big win against Newcastle United in the Premier League.
He will have been further acclaimed after one of his substitutes, Mykhailo Mudryk, scored the goal that turned out to be the winner on the night.
The Argentine should take this moment to give the promising talent more of a chance, and it should be coming at the expense of Raheem Sterling following his recent slump.
