Chelsea’s Cole Palmer was included on a six-man shortlist for the Premier League Player of the Month for April.

The 22-year-old attacker is still waiting for the official results of the monthly individual prize, but one journalist has given an early leak of who’s actually won it.

Cole Palmer was nominated for the accolade after some stunning performances last month. He played in four of Chelsea’s five league games in April, scoring seven goals and making one assist.

He’s up against Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, Manchester City’s Josko Gvardiol, Arsenal’s Kai Havertz, Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta and Everton’s Jordan Pickford for the Premier League prize.

Cole Palmer magic in April

Palmer scored four goals in a 6-0 league win against Everton on 15 April. Previously, he netted a hat-trick in a dramatic 4-3 victory over Man United on 4 April.

There’s no doubt that the English playmaker gets our vote for Player of the Month. It sounds like fans and football experts, who vote for the award, agree with us.

Journalist MaxLondonsFirst has reported via X this afternoon that Chelsea’s Palmer has won the Premier League Player of the Month for April.

If true, Palmer is the first Chelsea player to win a Player of the Month award since Eden Hazard back in September 2018.

More individual nominations

Palmer’s now been nominated for two big Premier League awards, rightly so.

It’s been confirmed today that the attacking playmaker, who thrives as a No 10 or right-winger, is on an eight-player shortlist for the Premier League Young Player of the Year.

On top of that, Palmer is also on the eight-man shortlist for the main prize of Premier League Player of the Year.

It’s thoroughly deserved because Palmer has 21 goals and nine assists in 30 league matches for Chelsea this season.
