Chelsea are set for a showdown at Stamford Bridge with London rivals Tottenham in the run in to the end of the season.

The Blues need points in a hurry if they are to qualify for European football for next season, and therefore keep Mauricio Pochettino in a job.

The blueprint was clear to see in the second half of their last game against Aston Villa, where they clawed back a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2.

With limited options on the bench, here’s The Chelsea Chronicle’s predicted XI for the match against Tottenham.

Chelsea predicted XI vs Tottenham

Djordje Petrovic could do very little about the two goals conceded at the weekend, and will continue in the side this weekend.

With no fit right-back looking available, Trevoh Chalobah will continue out of position after his very commendable last few performances.

With the soon-to-depart Thiago Silva seeming to go down with an injury last time out, Axel Disasi will return to the starting side at the heart of defence.

He will be partnered by Benoit Badiashile, who silenced a number of doubters with a top display at the weekend.

On the left, Marc Cucurella will start, after seeing his new role in the second half inspire the Chelsea comeback.

Midfield

Moises Caicedo was imperious against Villa, and will no doubt be crucial in the midfield battle against Spurs.

He will be joined by Conor Gallagher, fresh off the back of a wonderful goal with his weak foot at Villa Park.

Ahead of those two, Cesare Casadei will make his first start for the club after having a number of brief chances to impress off the bench since returning in January.

Attack

Cole Palmer will operate in a more advanced role as he looks to add to his 20 Premier League goals so far this season.

On the other side, it will be Noni Madueke looking to build on his goal that kept the game alive at the weekend.

Up front, Nicolas Jackson remains undroppable despite missing a number of big chances in front of goal.
