Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has now shared what he was texted by the owners after his side were beaten in the League Cup final by Liverpool.

He said in his pre-match press conference for the FA Cup game against Leeds that he has been in contact with both owners, and feels confidence from them in his place at the club.

Pochettino has seen his duck for a trophy in England go on, off the back of a heartbreaking defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s side after extra-time.

Frustration was clear on the manager’s face, with him seeming to blank Todd Boehly as he was receiving his runners up medal on Sunday.

It does seem as if that was a simple mistake though, with Pochettino stating today that he believes the relationship between himself and the American is good, after receiving a text from him after the game.

What Boehly texted to Pochettino

He said: “We were talking and I said hello when I saw them in the stadium. I met Behdad after and we were talking, we were talking.

“We were sharing the opinion of the game, we were talking about the opportunity we missed to win a trophy because we played really well in 90 minutes. We were not clinical enough.

“Yes, looking forward to the next competition and then the Premier League and try to win every single game.

“Yes [I feel the owner’s support]. After the game, Todd sent a really nice message.”

Reports have seemed to suggest that the club are considering their options however in case they do need to sack Pochettino in the coming weeks or months.

It has been claimed that they are long-term admirers of Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim, and it has been reported today that he is open to moving on if a good offer comes up at a bigger club.
