With just a few days to go until the League Cup final at Wembley, Mauricio Pochettino will be making his final decisions on who will start for Chelsea.

He has a number of first team injury concerns to deal with, however this is the same fate being met by Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool side.

Pochettino will have gained a lot of confidence from what he’d seen from his side in the majority of their last three games, with performances in those potentially saving his job and giving him a chance to win his first trophy in English football.

Wins against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace as well as a hard-fought point earned against Manchester City in the Premier League have brought a bit of optimisim back to match goers at Stamford Bridge.

When taking into account the manager’s usual starting side, there has always been one player who fans have ultimately thought could be expendable if they were to have a fully fit side.

Conor Gallagher has been one of the most important players for the boss this season, and he has finally repaid the faith in him by finding his goalscoring touch in recent weeks,

He opened his account for the campaign with a strike against Aston Villa in the FA Cup, before a crucial brace against his former side, Crystal Palace, helped them return to winning ways in the Premier League.

Pochettino has to start Gallagher

While many have often called for him to drop out of the starting side at times, there is no chance Pochettino should look to do this for the cup final on Sunday.

Christopher Nkunku is one player who hasn’t started recently that many supporters will be hoping makes an appearance at Wembley.

However, with the cohereant attacking performance from Cole Palmer, Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson makes it very difficult to see any of those not starting.
